Wow! Definitly impressed! Fast, super friendly service and the food was great. Fun atmosphere, and a great place you can take the whole family. We will absolutely be going back soon!

First, I would like to say I can read the sign that says not to hold tables for your party while they are in line. The waitress asked me twice if I had other members of my party and then the manager came over and asked if my friends were in line. I am a disabled vet who just had my second surgery on my ankle last month. I never mentioned it to you, but I sat down because my ankle was throbbing with pain and I could not stand up to walk through your line. I gave my wife my order and went to sit down while I was waiting for the pain medicine to kick in. I never mentioned it to you, but do not assume someone is trying to hold a table. On a separate note, the food was excellent and the place is kid friendly ...

Never disappoint with Willys the only problem I have is sometimes you have to wait in line a little long and when it's hot outside that kind of sucks. But you can bet every time we go my wife is going to have one of their adult beverages. And we're probably going to get some Queso.

I ordered good for a group of 40. Chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. I gotta tell you, I was a little worried. Let me tell you, they called to confirm the order before I had a chance too. We got there to pick it up to bring back to work. It was perfect and still hot and crispy when it was served. We had enough to fill everyone up and leftover. We will use them again for our large parties. Best idea yet! Thank you team for all your hard work and making out lunch meeting something to talk about.

We went twice since my first review and I have come to the conclusion that the crawfish were small because it was the beginning of the season, because now they are perfect! Love this place!

really good chain restaurant in willies, the food is good quality, albeit frozen and very good in flavor. theyre salads are huge and filling with a multitude of proteins to chose from in completing them. the chicken and fried chicken sandwiches are amazing!!! as are the french fries, they have a god formula here for good success, good food, and good food runners make for an enjoyable lunch outing.

Disappointed because my coworkers recommended this place. Food took more than 15 minutes to come out during lunch. Fried pickles were crunchy until we got to the bottom. Then they were greasy. Had to use napkins to soak up the oil. The catfish was cooked right however the rice and vegetables were overcooked. Saw table next to us waiting a long time for their food, too.

I was a fan of Willie's when I lived in Houston. Nice friendly relaxed atmosphere, cold beer and good food. What I can't get enough of is the buffalo chicken I like those so much that I just can't go back to anything else on the menu. Oh well I'm consistent and that chicken is consistently awesome.

Normally I really enjoy eating there, yesterday was a exception to the rule. It took them nearly 30 minutes to bring us our appetizers (fried mushrooms). When they finally brought the food, it belonged to a different customer table. Eventually we got our food and several lame ass excuses. They said they had prepared our appetizers as the same time our lunch was prepared and didn't want our meal to get cold as we ate our appetizers. They also stated they decided to "re-cook" our food. Sounds like bullshit to me. I told them I was on my lunch hour and that I'm required to punch in and out, and will probably be late to my job. They only added more excuses and also made no consolation for their piss poor performance!

Great place for the family but you have to come early or late because it's hard to find a table during peak hours. This is because you order and then find a table. The wait staff is always friendly and when busy they cover for each other. The place is usually clean and the food is always good.

Out here on a business trip and asked around for a place with good food and drinks and no one mentioned this place.. We went had everything from the Asian salad to the pulled pork and all were great!! I gave to suggest the Willie Wonka for dessert a brownie/ ice cream/ whip cream tower of goodness. Service was also grata a must for anyone!

Everything I've had here is delicious! The service is on point... Super friendly, and very attentive... Right around this time I'm here a lot with one of my good friends who loves crawfish... I swear they always run out because of him... Okay, well the crawfish here is fantastic... Love the spice, and there creamy butter to dip it in... The ribs are so tender, and tasty, as are the fries... This last time I also got there Asian salad... WOW... It was phenomenal... So many different elements to it, and great touch with the giant fried wonton... A must try!!!... There chili dogs, and burgers are also great...Oh, and the Willie Wonka dessert is out of this world... So chocolaty, and love the warm brownie topped with the cold vanilla ice cream n chocolate sauce all over... YUM YUM YUM...If you are craving crawfish, this is the spot for sure... If you're in the mood for great food all around, this is definitely the spot! Love Willie's!

Mediocre food and fried greasy stuff. If you want average food, beer and a beautiful view of 281 this is the place.

Great seafood gumbo, fried pickles crisp and not grease. Employees are always friendly and keep your drink full. Never had a bad meal here.

GREAT SERVICE from Bobby. Food was good. The shrimp po'boy had big shrimp and good amount of fries. Fried Baja fish tacos were almost perfect. Casual place to eat. I didn't have them but crawfish here is popular and not too expensive. WILL BE BACK!!!

I really enjoy Willies and so do the kids.. The mist helps and I much rather sit outside than freeze in the cold especially when you have a gorgeous Texas afternoon.. The EL Hefe is delish and the food is above par.. It's a fun, laid back place to grab a beer or a frozen cocktail and let the kids mingle in the sand.. I'm a fan for sure!

  • Christopher H.

I have always like this place. The food has always been consistently good. Service is fair. It's the only place out side of L.A. I can get craw fish regularly. They offer seasonal dishes. I really like the gumbo.

Earlier this evening was our first time at Willie's. I had noticed it a few times before but hadn't tried until tonight. I wish I would have tried them sooner, but better late than never. We got there for an early dinner so we definitely beat the rush, however at ten til 5 it wasn't dead either. They have an unique set up at Willie's. You place your order first with the hostess and get your drinks. Then after seating a server verifies the order and runs it to the kitchen and does everything else that a server would. Speaking of drinks I had an obligatory Shiner Bock on tap and my wife had an Angry Orchard, That is good out of a bottle but exceptional on tap! Service all around was friendly and fast. I ordered the Chili Willie, and we got a child's burger for our boy. My wife got the shrimp tacos. Ten.minutes later the food was brought to us, Everything was delicious too. After a bite I let our little boy go outside and have some sandbox time. They have one of those misters installed along the perimeter of the porch area, Those things really make a difference, It was in the high 90s yet still very comfortable. When we come back we will eat on the patio. The prices overall are also quite good. I will definitely come back. Willie's rocks!

Shrimping catfish combo is really awesome service kids were entertained by the sandbox so that was a blessing in itself and the Arcade is nothing to shook a stick at really awesome place

Great place our first time here was today and we loved it. Great customer service, the food was ready in no time and on top of that the kids loved the sand box playing time. Overall we had great experience

First time at Willie's. At first when we walked up to the restaurant I heard a ton of screaming kids and thought, "oh no" then realized they had a sand play area for them---outside. I guess I can avoid it by sitting inside! Tried the beerita for the first time here (although I'm not a tequila fan)--let's just say I got a good buzz! Ordered the fried sampler platter--didn't realize it was so huge! We barely finished half the plate. The platter consisted of fried mushrooms, pickles, mozzarella sticks, jalapenos, and onion rings--with dipping sauces. I liked the cheese dip (goes well w/ the fried jalapenos)! Service was horrible though. The little waitress was rarely at our table. And when we were ready to order dessert she was nowhere to be found. Think we gave her about 20 mins before we decided to flag down a cleaning staff member to "locate our waitress." Ordered the apple sizzler for dessert. Let's just say it took awhile to get to us too. It was burnt and was probably one of the worst I've had---barely any apple and a whole lot of burnt crust. The ice cream was pretty good though!

Fried pickles were very good. Small order plenty for two. Shrimp taco were yummy. Only thing I didn't like was waitress could have been a little less rambunctious and a little more manners.

  • Erika Z.

Went here for the first time today. It was really busy and our waiter was still very attentive. Great service and great food for a good price. They have a patio outside that has a large sandbox for the kids to play in.

All around good food! Really like the mushroom smothered chicken with rice and mashed potatoes. Burgers are good also.

  • Christine M.

It had potential, casual place, tasty looking food, super friendly staff and lots of frozen drink machines....but the food was just blah. I had a crawfish poboy and I had to douse it with hotsauce just to give it some taste. The deck is really nice though and if I had a bunch of kiddos with me, i would let them play in the sandbox area while I enjoyed frozen grown-up drinks...

We stopped here after a busy day at the San Marcos outlets And almost forgot about our shopping trip! Service was fabulous from the moment we walked in the door, and we were impressed by the decent prices. The atmosphere and music were very laid back and enjoyable. I wish there were Willie's closer to home and would definitely come back here next time I'm in Texas!!!

  • Kristin T.

So, I couldn't try the oysters or shrimp or crawfish because I'm preggers :( I had a cheese burger and fries expecting it to be so-so but it was actually soooo yummy!! The patty was nearly an inch thick and they used chopped lettuce instead of whole leaves... If your picky like me that's a big deal!! They also season their fries with season all or something close to what Freddy's puts on their fries but its so lightly seasoned that you notice it without it being too empowering. All in all the service and food was amazing!! Will defiantly be going back soon.

I was curious about this place and how their burgers compared to Chester's so I gave it a try today. I wasn't all that impressed. The burgers are okay but nothing to "write home about". Their fries are "so-so" also. As far as price goes it's comparable to Chesters except at the end there is the tip factor here at Willie's. Another commenter thought it was strange that you yourself order at the counter and then the server takes your written order. I thought this was strange also. Hec, if you want a drink refill you even do it yourself so I wouldn't feel too obligated to do the 15-20% tip thing. Maybe 10%,

  • Brandi C.

Our server was James... He was very attentive. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was cause we didn't really like the steak fingers. But the service was fast and James was awesome!

Been a regular here for 15+ years, never had a bad meal. The salads are huge, always fresh and delicious homemade dressings. Catfish/salmon/crawfish are fresh and delish. Best fries and great fried pickles. Bring the kids to play outside or in game room. Cold beer and tasty margaritas. And to top it off, the prices are so reasonable. They do it right. Also on 1604/military or Leon Springs and in Houston, too.

Never disappointed. Baja Fish Tacos is two meals in one. Love the environment. Fun place and great service.

This is a fun place. Good fast service, tasty food. We love the deck and the little squirt loved the sandbox. Fried pickles, po-boys, crawfish, sammiches....all good. And I got to have my first beerita, which was awesome too.

  • Kayal J.

Nothing special. Average food. Good decorations and lot of room. Why do you have to go through a line initially and place order when there is waiter servicing you. BTW the salsa is horrible!

    (2)
  • Patricia A.

Love love love the buffalo chicken tenders. Awesome beer selections. Tried the burger once, will never order that again. Will stick to the tenders. Yum!

    (4)
  • Colin R.

Nothing special, infact we were disappointed in the food. I ordered the chicken po boy that was wasn't cut. Processed chese and honey mustard on a bun that fell apart. Fries were not hot. The cheses burger seemed like a frozen patty that was bland and not hot at all. The staff wasn't friendly. Best part about it was the kids running around outside. Also a yelper by the name of chris suggested the nachos, he's a trickster. The beef was tasteless, cheese was ok.

    (2)
  • Chris V.

We enjoyed ourselves. Very open and we really like garage-like look (garage doors than can open to provide air movement and the like). Food is really good for a "fast food" place. Not really fast food, though, since you pay after you eat.

  • Tracy S.

Willies is one of my favorite places to eat! The food is fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is great! I suggest the crawfish platter during crawfish season. The fish tacos are pretty amazing as well.

  • Heather V.

I love this place. It reminds me of Houston and the po-boys are legit. They were out of crawfish yesterday and so I went with a fried crawfish tail po-boy and OMG, I was back home with every bite. This place is kid friendly and very down to earth, so if you are looking to relax, eat, hang out with your kids and still feel like a grown-up, this is the place to be.

I hate Willie's. Not really, but for a while, I swear, it came pretty close to hate. Willie's was one of the only places my sister and her twins & (at the time) my toddler and I could eat food that was actually a decent meal, AND have the the pleasure of carrying on more than a 30 second conversation. Why? Because our kids loved the sandbox, and we did too...up until it was time to load the children I spoke of earlier back into the car to head home for a nap. They really should put a nice little shower, like they have at the beach, so that you don't carry your dining experience home with you. I don't exactly know what kind of hell-sand Willie's is putting in their giant "box", but it's the variety that gets into every possible nook & cranny that you never even knew you had! Now, seriously, the food is good. And, the customer service is AMAZING! I once threw a couples shower with a Mardis Gras theme. Despite my thoughts otherwise, San Antonio is not the hotbed of themed party decor. I could scarcely find purple and green beads. I had the brilliant idea of calling Sand Headquarters (AKA Willie's) after realizing they had decorated their entire restaurant a few months earlier with an array of fanciful Mardi Gras decorations that would've made any Cajun proud. Long story short (well, not exactly), but anyhow, the generous and saintly manager, out of the kindness of his sweet little heart, let me borrow BOXES of decorations. I think it was his way of making up for the demon sand...now, I love them again!

I came here for my birthday party with an craving for CRAWFISH. The 6 of us ordered 5lbs. of crawfish which came out seasoned with spices, potatoes, and corn. Also ordered a Po-boy sandwich. The crawfish tasted DECENT, nothing too spectacular or memorable. The Po-boy was DRY and tasted like cardboard. The best part of the experience was the friendly service.

We love Willie's---all the locations! Great casual dining with friendly staff. The patio and sandbox make it an easy choice with small children. We eat here several times a month.

  • Giselle C.

Willie's is our go-to spot for a weekday break from the heat. They have their misters running on the deck/patio, and the beer (tons of variety) is always ice cold. Their margaritas are great (try the Chambord-rita - and only have 1 because it's pretty potent). The ribs are awesome as are the salads. It's a great place to take your kids...they have a giant sandbox in the patio area and the menu is varied enough to please anyone. As a matter of fact, maybe I'll go there tonight...:)

  • Michelle G.

Loved this place!! Reasonably priced and the food was awesome! I had the baby back ribs and they were delicious. My husband had a burger and really liked it. The place has a fun atmosphere, kid friendly and very relaxed. We ate there just passing thru town but I would eat there again in a minute. Highly recommended!

One of the best places to eat in San Antonio. The seating is pretty crowded, and the noise level when it's busy is way too loud, but the food makes up for it. The queso, taco salad, po-boys, burgers, salsa, gumbo, and salads are all phenominal. There is an outside area for seating with a sand box for the kids. I would definately recommend Willie's. The drinks here are delicious also.

  • Jerry R.

I liked it. I had the cheesesteak sandwich, and though it was great I wish I had gotten a burger. It's a lively place and was very crowded, but the way they do seating, we had no problem getting a table. I look forward to going back soon and trying out more of their menu. The food looked fresh and made to order. Also I loved the frozen jack and coke. It's basically a coke slush spiked with whiskey. Absolute genius.

  • Phil M.

ok....this place looked really cool. First of all, the whole set up is just confusing. You order in a line, they give you a check, but then you sit down, a waitress finds you, and takes said check, and asks you if you want anything else. Sooooooo why not just use menus. Or pay up at the counter. Either of those ways would be so much easier and make more sense. Regardless, we ordered two po' boys......fried shrimp and an oyster one. Now they weren't bad, but they were lacking any seasoning. I had to dump first the tartar sauce on them.....that didn't do it. So then cocktail sauce. Nope. Finally after getting some hot sauce from the waitress and dousing the sandwich, then it got tasty. Also the oysters were lacking......I had a bunch of bread left over at the end, but no meat. The shrimp was pretty prevalent though......more than enough there. They also charged us for 2 pops b/c I took a few sips out of my wife's coke. Sorry coke Nazis! It also was pretty slow. Now I won't swear off this place.......I want it to work and be good. I'll try it one more time. Oh yeah......lots of screaming kids outside. If you have no kids, go inside. Trust me.

This review is based on 5 years of going to Willie's at both 281 and 1604 probably 15 to 20 times total. Every time we went was with friends and we always had a great time. The ambiance is fun and festive. Outdoor play area for rug rats, wide variety of grub and booze for the grownups. The food here is fair (not very good, not great). It's what one would expect from a sports bar. When you're hanging out with friends and drinking, the quality of the food sometimes is missed. However, we did a four-way burger challenge with a plain cheeseburger from Willie's and three other places. Four people in our family (each blinded to the origin of the food) put the Willie's burger dead last: dry, overcooked, and tasteless. We were shocked. But then, it's primarily a place to hang out with friends. The ambiance, staff, and fun factor: 4 stars. Drinks quality: 3 stars. Food quality: 1 star. Overall: 2 stars. We have not been back to Willie's in over 2 years. Certainly nothing has changed since then. The place remains wildly popular with the parking lot overflowing. If you're okay with mediocre food and put a priority on fun, by all means head to your nearest Willie's. If you're looking for really good food, look elsewhere. It's just not that good. OVERALL: MEH.

Get ready to have your MIND. BLOWN. This place serves up cajun and american style food, and they do it right! My boyfriend and I have sampled many a dish from here and we have never been disappointed! Whether you'd like a recommendation, I'm gonna make'em anyways! :P Appetizers: -- Fried Pickles -- always come out nice and crispy, never soggy! They also have a great spice to it so its never bland! -- Shrimp Campechana (a ceviche) -- This app especially blew me away because of the huge shrimps and large avocado chunks in this delicious ceviche. And if you want to have a nice, light lunch, this makes a PERFECT entree =) Entrees: -- Cajun Catfish PoBoy -- 2 HUGE filets, wonderfully seasoned and crispy, on a delicious po boy with their special spicy coleslaw. -- Fried Crawfish Tails -- AMAZING. 'Nuff said. -- Turkey Mushroom Burger -- You can't even tell it's not beef. Delicious!! -- Any other burger -- ask my boyfriend and he'll tell you they're amazing too! :P -- Chicken tender PoBoy -- Not super heavy on the breading, so you definitely get a lot of actual meat in those tenders! Plus, the honey mustard dressing is heavenly =D (now, there's still on the menu left to try, so don't be afraid!) As far as drinks go, we always end up going for lunch (during or before work) so we've never had an opportunity to try their beeritas, but they sure look tasty!! Before you go running off to grab some grub, I also want to point out that although every location in San Antonio (1604/NW Militarty, San Pedro, Boerne Stage Rd) has a beautiful deck, with a sandbox area for the little kiddies, this location is HANDS DOWN the most relaxing place to be on a gorgeous day. They offer plenty of natural shade, and the misters are usually going as well. Despite being right off the highway, this place still manages to make me feel like I'm at the beach. I love you Willie's!

  • Rod B.

Tried their nachos, and was a little disappointed. I had 2 put the meat, cheese, lettuce on the chips myself, and what was worse was it was a big ass plate full of chips, and only a small cup of meat, a small cup of cheese, and lettuce. This time, I went and eyed the fried catfish (1 side of me was like, "That smells delicious. while the other said, "THAT SMELLS HELLA GOOD. I know what I'm getting next. ") So next time, I'm getting the catfish.

The hubby-do and I went for lunch. We ordered the fried shrimp and headed to the patio. Minutes later we were eating a great meal! The shrimp were hot and crispy with a great flavor. The fries were home made and fantastic. We are finicky cole slaw eaters and loved Willie's version. The cabbage was crunchy and had just the right amount of mayonnaise and sweetness. The patio was fantastic. It is shaded and they also have umbrellas at the tables. The service was also great. We went early for lunch; I suggest you get there early. It started getting very crowded close to noon. We will definitely be back!

Great burgers, good margaritas... what more can a girl ask for? Oh wait good service... but they have that too. I am gluten free and they didn't bat an eye at the modifications that I asked for in the burger. Fun place to kick back and meet some friends.

I love this restaurant! It's very casual and fun for all ages. There is a small play area and large sandbox on the deck. Theres a small arcade indoors for older children. The food is good- above average. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Music is played and there is writing on the walks. It has a very local vibe. I generally get a plain hamburger and French fries and am satisfied every time! I always go when given the chance!

Love it here. Really great staff, they are also very helpful with the menu for picky, but plain eaters, like myself. Margaritas are great. Get on their mailing list, they don't spam you, just send freebies! :)

While I don't necessarily come here for the food (it's definitely above average and the brownie sundae dessert is actually superb!)- the real reason I've been here more times than I can count on two hands is their awesome sandbox to keep my daughter occupied while I indulge in one of their delicious margaritas! :-)

We stopped in this evening for something to eat after our trip to Natural Bridge Caverns. First of all the service is outstanding, lots of friendly waiters and waitresses. Our Mediterranean salad with oregano vinigarette was excellent. The Baja fish tacos were very good also. The Spanish rice was only okay. Since we now live in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the salsa served with the chips was underwhelming in taste and heat. Overall, the place is a place to return to again.

We came to SA from Dallas for the weekend and I was trying to find somewhere I could bring my toddler with us to eat and he could play and let us relax with friends. after doing research we picked this spot thanks to Yelpers. I ordered the blackened fish tacos and they were yummy!!! The atmosphere w as cool. We waited in line for bout a half hour to order our food bc it was Friday night and then we say on the patio with a pitcher and were able to keep an eye on our son while we enjoyed a little adult time!! It was so relaxing and had a fun atmosphere. I didn't have to worry about my son being loud or running crazy because he played in the sandbox the entire time!!! It made our hour so enjoyable. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was bc the waitress wasn't super friendly. She seemed busy though so maybe she was tired. In any case this was a great spot!! Totally recommend if you want to go somewhere and have some adult time and be able to keep an eye on the little ones.

  • Francesca D.

Came here with my girls on a friday night and it was just the type of atmosphere we were looking for: fun laid-back backyard patio place with great drinks. I'm just gonna give a fair warning and say that the margaritas are sooo strong so needless to say everybody in Willie's was having a good time. For an appetizer we got fried pickles and they were lightly battered and fried to the point of perfection. For dinner, I got the hickory cheddar burger and it was really good but the real star of the meal were the fries. The fries were amazing in their perfectly seasoned glory. Perfect place to have a chill girls night and stare at some hot waiters :)

  • Alisa R.

Willie's is great because you can let the kids play in the sand until the wee hours of the night while the adults hang out, talk and eat. What could be better? Sometimes, I think the food could be a little better but with the atmosphere, I think that may be asking a little too much. I normally get their chicken salad and munch on the kids' french fries because they are pretty good. The service is hit or miss because it is an odd ordering system. You order and then you bring your tag to the table, only to have the waitress reconfirm the order. I think this adds too much waiting time and generally is a confusing way to run a business. You either order and have it served or you sit and have it served. Other than all of those complaints, ha ha, Willie's is a fine establishment that will probably outlive me.

  • Karen K.

Okay, so I was visiting SA and was drawn by the high ratings and intriguing descriptions of this place - outdoor patio, live music (it was Friday). Unfortunately, I disn't read anything stating that patrons order cafeteria style, and rather than a "grille" atmosphere it feels more like noisy diner. The guac and wings were sub-par and served in a plastic container. Everything else sampled was just okay.

I went here for lunch on Friday, and I was very impressed! For $4, you can get a GIGANTIC bowl of caesar salad. Their Gulf Oysters were the creamiest oysters from the Gulf that I've EVER had.

Great place to bring the kiddies! They serve most everything off the grill.(burgers, salads, chicken). Their burgers are one of the best in San Antonio. The outside seating has a "mist-er" to keep you cool and huge sandbox for the kids. They were lacking a bit in the service arena! We waited for ever for the check...but it was lunch time and packed...so we let it slide.

Willie's has fantastic burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The atmosphere makes me think of a beach restaurant. they have outdoor seating and the dining area is quite large. I am not a drinker but if i were, I'm fairly certain that Willie's could accommodate my alcohol needs. Very fun and laid back.

I work close to this location and LOVE it for a nice lunch - mainly because their patio area is super nice. A great break from the indoor office, sometimes during the day I really crave just to be outside. I also know that I can eat here for under $10! I hate spending more than that for lunch. I also like that they have a Lunch Punch card, so if you eat lunch here 8 times you get a free 9th lunch. Yummy! I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwhich. I mean I love that thing, and their fries. The have a little seasoning that is just perfect. To be honest, I havn't had much else....once I find something I love I eat it over and over and over! OHHHH and little tid bit. I do know that if you order a salad, they will ask you if it is a small or large. And small and large refers too the amount of meat NOT the amount of salad. So small salads are still rather large.

Great as always. Great service. The shrimp were excellent and lightly fried. Even with the business PACKED, my order came out in a great time frame, and tasted perfect. No corners cut here. Server was excellent.

So, I don't have kids, but I still think Willie's is neat. The selection is fabulous. They have everything from burgers to seafood, and the prices are great. We had the chips and queso to start and I kept telling myself, this will be the last chip, don't want to get full. I thought the waiter was nice, but a little slow. We just watched the big screen tvs to pass the time, and it was no biggie. I had the small fried crawfish and it was very fresh and tasty. Super yummy! Two reasons I took a star away, one was for the slow-ish service, and the other because the kids were kinda running wild in there. Still really liked Willie's, though, and will most likely be back.

If you have kids this is a great place to try. Its a little strange how you order at the counter then take your ticket to your table and your waiter goes over the ticket with you. Why not just order and pay at the counter and take a number and then have the waiter bring the food out to you? Burgers are good. I have not really tried anything else there so cant vouch for anything else.

If I had kiddos, we'd go here every weekend. I would let them wear themselves out in the ginormous sandbox while I sipped on some iced tea outside and watch cops pull over speeding cars on 281. As far as the food goes, I love love love the grilled shrimp caesar salad. The "small" salad is actually huge! And the large is just ridiculously giant! The buffalo chicken tenders are pretty good too.

After a long day of moving into a new place on Saturday, my friends and I needed a cold beer and some good food. I had not been to this Willie's before but I'm so happy we went. After much debate I decided not to order their awesome crawfish simply because I was too tired to have to work for my food. Plus, all I really wanted was beer. Willie's is great because it feels like an old country store. They have a huge deck patio outside with an enormous sandbox for kids. (I can't say how I know this, but that sandbox is also fun for grown-ups who are still kids at heart.) We ordered a round and were served our respective selections of frosty bottles. My beer was a bit frozen inside, which is basically all this girl needed to be happy. Our first beers tasted so delicious that we ordered a few more. And then a couple more after that. The waiter was great and friendly and our food was oh-so-yummy. I even tried the raw oysters. Not too bad, actually. At least I think I liked them... Man those beers were good..

Love this place! Been coming here for almost 15 years. As a kid, loved the sandbox. As an adult, love depositing kids in the sandbox! Food is always good. My favorite is the fried catfish. The Willy Wonka provides a tasty end to a relaxing night on the patio. Even if you don't have children, this place is totally adult-friendly! Great place for a beer on those hot Texas days and nights.

Cold beer, average to above-average American fare.

Went to Willie's looking for a new burger place to try, and it was pretty good. The burger was average, nothing special (hence the average rating of 3 stars). I don't have any complaints against Willie's, but i don't have any great things to rave about it either. If you go here, sit on the patio on a nice day, that would be the only draw for me to go there again.

This place has a really fun atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor elements blend together because of the the garage-door walls, which facilitate traffic flow. As the other reviews mention, ordering is a little strange. I think you order first so that you can go to your table with drink in hand, then the server can put your food order in. Also, the other reviews mention the kid-friendly atmosphere. This is definitely true. While the sandbox and restaurant set up are great for families, it wasn't exactly great for an adult date. The fish and chips were really good. They were catfish in a corn batter, but weren't too cat-fishy. My husband had the hickory cheddar burger, which he described as tasty, but not outstanding. We didn't have any problems with slow service. Our server was prompt and friendly. She even fixed our wobbly table.

Nice place for a casual meal. A little expensive for the quality of food. My wife's chicken tenders and my burger were over seasoned and over cooked. Great out door atmosphere with mist machines on the patio.

Wonderful food. Great people. Make use feel right at home. We have a disabled son and they are very accommodating. The food is well mixed. I usually enjoy the pork ribs or blacked rib eye. The wife likes the grilled catfish and we both think they have fresh salsa and light crispy chips.
